BLURB
Seven years ago, I saved her. I loved her. I still do. But they took me away from her and locked me up. For two years, all I could think about was her. She consumed me. Took up every room in my head and gave me something to focus on, knowing I would see her soon.

Four years ago, I watched her as she walked down the aisle and into the arms of a man that wasn't me. My brother. I promised him that I'd leave town.

I did and never looked back.

Now, I'm staring at seven letters, each envelope stamped with one word in bold, red ink: URGENT.

I have no choice but to go back home. Seeing her will be the hardest thing I'll ever have to do. But in order to reconcile with my past, I have to face my present. Even if the thought of seeing her, knowing that she is out of my reach, kills me.

I have no idea what awaits me, but I can only hope that the demons of my past will finally be buried and put to rest.

EXCERPT

He grabs the pen and notebook on the desk and scribbles something on it. Then flips it around and slides it toward me.
You’re a terrible signer.
My face heats up. I look up at him. He’s smiling now. Grinning, actually. It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.
He pulls the notebook back, writes on it again, before pushing it back to me.
Use your mouth and speak slowly. I love to watch you while you speak.
Holy hell!
“You do?” Those are the only words capable of leaving my mouth. My brain cells. . . gone. Poof!
He nods, his gaze still fixed on my mouth. I lick my lips. The courage that acted as fuel when I walked in a few minutes ago has vanished after his words that are now causing chaos in me.
He scrawls on the book, Something got your tongue?
“More like Cole got my tongue,” I mutter under my breath. The boy with freckles on his face sitting two feet away from us snickers.
Shit. I didn’t mean to say that out loud.
Something brushes against my knee under the table. I jolt upright as the impact of it rushes through me.
Oh God, his knee is touching mine. Maybe it was accidental?
Yeah, right. I’ve known Cole for a few days now. Nothing about his actions are accidental or innocent. They are measured. Deliberate. Precise.
He applies pressure where our bodies touch. I’m no longer Eleanor. I’m a girl who’s hanging on by a thread, waiting to burst into flames. No other part of his body has ever touched mine other than the pinkie finger. The movement stops, and air finally finds its way to my lungs. I should move my leg, put a stop to this torture. But I can’t. There’s a force that tethers my body to his. I want to find out more about it because. . .I just need to.
Period.
Time to regroup. Why was I here again?
“Why do you come to my rooftop every night?”
His gaze leaves my mouth and fixes on my eyes.
He scribbles on the notebook. Do you want me to stop?
The thought of not having Cole’s body next to mine at ten o’clock every night makes my chest twist in pain. But I need to know.
“Why do you come to my rooftop every night?”
I don’t like to watch the stars alone, he writes, and then cocks one thick brow at me.
I don’t buy that excuse. I know he comes to my roof every night for more than just watching the stars. I want him to admit it.
I lean closer. His scent slams into me and I have to fight hard not to climb over the table and wrap myself around him for eternity. The muscles on his forearm tense as he grabs the beanie with his free hand from the table. He clenches it in his fist as though holding onto the hat gives him something to keep himself from drowning in the tension surrounding us. I know this because that’s what I’m feeling right now, like I’m being pulled towards something I’ve never felt before. Something indescribable. Something phenomenal.
His Adam’s apple bobs up and down. Do I make him nervous? Or Is there something else going on behind those stormy gray eyes?
I push my chin forward, aiming to goad him further. “Why do you come to my rooftop every night?”
He stares at me for a long time, more than it’s legally allowed for a person to look at another.
He closes his eyes and exhales shakily as though he’s forcing air out of his lungs. They open slowly and he looks down at the notepad. The grip on the pencil is tight, he might snap it any minute now. He lets go of the beanie and runs his fingers down his hair before hunching down and writes quickly. Once he’s done, he slides the notebook in my direction and then leans back in his chair, staring at me.
My heart’s beating out of my chest as I drop my eyes from his and to the words written in a careless scrawl.
Can I let you in on a little secret? ;) I’ve imagined for a while now how your mouth would feel pressed against mine. That bottom lip between my teeth. I’ve wondered if you’d sigh if I kiss you, the way you do when you look at the stars. Or the way you moan while sucking on a lemon drop. I’ve fantasized about so many things about you, but most of all, I’ve wondered what you taste like.
Holy hell! How am I even sitting down?

WYLABWYW: Author Bio

Stephanie Jenkins a native of Queens, New York spent the last twenty-three year in North Carolina. She currently lives in Camden, Delaware a small town outside of Dover, Delaware, where she writes under the name of S. Raven Storm and works at the local Hospital.

Stephanie Jenkins is a member of Poetry in Motion, a local group of writers, poets and entertainers headed by Amillion the poet Mayfield. She’s won three (3) poetry awards and has published works in the Mount Olive Trojan magazine.

Stephanie Jenkins has a BS degree in Business Administrations with a minor in English Literature. Her notoriety comes from her poetry, YouTube videos, and tracks on various artist beats. She is the author of Someone for Me which released April 22, 2015. This is Stephanie Jenkins/ S. Raven Storm’s first novel, which is on its way to being a bestseller

Presently the Amazon eBook has a five star rating with great reviews. She also has a following on Good Reads.  She is working on the sequel titled, “Someone for Me Too” which will be release in the fall of 2015.

WYLABWYW: Tell us a little bit about yourself. Something we won’t find in you author bio on your website (do you work, hobbies, what do you like to do when not writing/working, etc.).

I love to cook, especially Italian. My dream is to one day not only visit but live in Italy. I am working on my family genealogy, this was been a long process but in doing so I found my heritage in the Coastal Algonquian nation which I incorporated in my book: Someone for me.

WYLABWYW:  Are you self-published, with an agency, or a combination of the two?

I joined Platinum Pearl Publications which was an imprint of Jaded Publications in April 2015. However recently August 2015, Jade Jones decided to focus on her writing career and dissolved the company and their imprints. I am currently trying to decide if I want to self-publish or join one of the many publishing houses that have contact me.

WYLABWYW: What inspired you to become a writer?

I always used my ability to write to make up for bad grades in school. I have a wonderful imagination. You remember in school when the teacher would ask everyone to write what they did that summer. I always had a story, yet it was totally fiction and I always received an A. However, I think being a fan of romance really made me take writing seriously. I would say Author Beatrice Small, who used to be my pen pal is one my greatest inspirations, along with Brenda Jackson.

WYLABWYW: Do you have a mentor or mentors?

I have idols, and I think everyone I have met have attributed in some way some golden knowledge. From Authors like Shirley Hailstock, Al Tonya Washington and Mercy B Carruthers to promoters and bloggers like Papaya Wagstaff-Speight, Sharnel Williams, Sharon Blount and LaShaunda Hoffman.

WYLABWYW:  What do you do to prepare for a story?

Nothing, honestly I write an outline and then type. The storyline and characters are in my head and are constantly talking. I know it sounds crazy and I too use to think it was crazy until I heard Tyler Perry say the same thing. I write to stop the chatter. I try to write everything down but it just doesn’t work for me. I write and save on USB thumb drive after my computer crashed one day and I lost four chapters of a book.

WYLABWYW: What do you find to be your biggest obstacle in the writing process?

Time! I currently work 10:30 pm to 7:00 am I sleep then try to wake up before noon to write. But sometimes I have outside appointments and other obstacles. I go back to sleep around 5pm then wake at 8pm to start the process all over again.

WYLABWYW:  Where do you do your writing?

I write in my room with my desktop computer. I’ve tried laptops but I just can’t, I like the space of a desk top.

WYLABWYW: Do you listen to music when you write? If so, what do you typically listen to?

I just started that listening when writing. My friend, Brock Kalim, who writes poetry told me music helps your creativity. He advised me to try it and it worked. I wrote a two page love scene listening to Tyrese. So now I listen to music. Sometimes it’s jazz, R & B or old smooth love songs.

WYLABWYW: How much of your book(s), if any, is taken from real life events?

I have areas in Wilmington NC where the book takes place, but I changed a lot of the names. Some places like the River walk and Cape Fear River are actual sites. I use a lot of cultural language and rituals of the Coastal Algonquian Indians, I even added a dictionary in the back of the book. Some of the love scenes are from my experience with my ex whom I dedicated my book to.

WYLABWYW:   Who is/was your biggest support for your writing career?

My biggest support comes from a good friend and my proofreader Ginny Jewel. She happens to own Acorn bookstore here in Delaware, and pushes me to take the next step. Also I belong to a group called Poetry in Motion. The group consists of writers, singers, painters, rappers etc…

WYLABWYW:  What lead to write your chosen genre?

I’m in love with love. I have such a fairy tale mentality when comes to romance it is ridiculous.

I love an Author who can make me visualize, smell and feel a character.

WYLABWYW:  Tell us about your book.

The sexy full figured, dark chocolate, strikingly attractive Skye Jones, Marketing executive at Top Lake has endured her trouble youth of being an orphan and putting herself through college. Thanks to a determination to survive, her best-friends and the generational sixth sense that some would describe as visions or psychic abilities, she’s made her way to the top. Without a man in her life and no faith in love, Top Lake becomes her lover, but when Top Lake is threatened by a takeover from the ruthless and mysterious Louis Manteo Charles and the Ebb Tide Corporation Skye becomes unsure of her future. While attending a mandatory party hosted by Ebb Tide Skye finds herself in the arms of devilishly handsome and sexy executive of Ebb Tide, Logan Tyler. With his bow legs and dimpled cheeks he in turn brings out things she never knew existed causing her to experience wantonness.
Logan Tyler has paid the price to get where he is today. He prides himself on being calm and cool, yet all that goes out the window when he meets Ms. Skye Jones. Skye turns Logan’s world upside down and has him thinking some new thoughts about his bachelor’s lifestyle. He knows he loves her in his bed and can’t get enough of their hot, steamy lovemaking. He soon realizes he wants more, he wants her in every part of his life.

The question is; can the two live on sexual attractions and hot passionate bed sport when each carries a secret that can destroy the relationship? Skye is willing to take the chance, but Logan fears his secret will destroy any hope for his future with Skye. Can his and Skye’s relationship survive the truth? Feel The Heat!

WYLABWYW:  Do you have muses you used for your characters?

No, I don’t know anyone who is like the characters in my book.

WYLABWYW: Time to give your support a shout out! Tell us about your crew (cover designer, photographer, editor, videographer, proofreader, swag designer, etc.)

I would like to give a shout out to my girl Ginny Jewel. When I decided to self publish and gave her my book to proofread she came to me and said “Your making a big mistake, this book is too good for your first book to be self publishing. Put it out there for a publishing house.” Even now she is helping me to find a new publisher. She also supports my self-publishing ideas. Ginny gave me pointers on what she thought might be over the top or unbelievable in my books. She also helped me with my contract for Platinum Pearl Publications by read my contract.

WYLABWYW: What are you working on now, and when can we expect your next release?

I am currently finishing the last two chapters of “Someone for Me Too” which I plan to release in October 2015.

WYLABWYW: Can you share an excerpt from a work in progress?

Logan sat at the head of the table while opening the wine. He began to pour the pale liquid into two champagne flute glasses. Skye approach with a sizzling pan of lamb chops. His eyes fixed on the scene before him. The chops wasn’t what made him freeze in mid motion. The see-through red negligee Skye was wearing captivated his attention.

“Wow.” Is all he could say, concerning the feast of his favorite foods, drink and the hellacious negligee she barely wore. Skye’s breast never return to normal after Hasssun’s birth, they remain plump and full. Right now, they appear to be double the size as if they were trying to escape the confines of their covering. His dick twitched in acknowledgement of the site before him.

“Damn, you expect me to sit here across from you wearing that for the entire meal?” Logan asked in disbelief. As good as the food looked and smelled he was ready to put it back in the over and fuck Skye until she couldn’t stand.

“It’s called foreplay and anticipation.” She smiled as sat down then leaned over causing her breast to almost spill out, as she spoon mash potatoes onto his plate.

“No it’s called torture and a case of blue balls.” He announced as he got up to hand her a glass of wine. Giving Skye the glass, his now empty hand reached inside her bodice and gentle massaged her ripe, round mound. He let his thumb rub against the nipple causing Skye to whimper in delight. In her state, she accidently spilled some of her wine onto her chest, as it rolled between her cleavage.

Logan got on his knees, licking the liquid from between her breast he continued to lick upward to her chest, her neck, her chin as he then captured her lips. Their tongues intertwine as the kiss took them to higher heights. Logan positioning himself between Skye’s legs, gently massage her thighs.

“The potatoes are going to get cold. I made them just the way you like them.” She whispered, trying to catch her breath from the long seductive kiss.

Logan put his two fingers in the mashed potatoes and scooping out a generous amount he tasted them and said, “Delicious.” He repeated the process and held his fingers out to Skye, who began licking the potatoes from his fingers, finally placing them in her mouth as she began to suck upon the members.

WYLABWYW:  Do you have any upcoming signing events or appearances scheduled later this year or in 2016?

I have book signing September 19, 2015 at Acorn Book Store in Smyrna DE

Thank you for having me.

Dorothy F. Shaw - Interview

Author Name: Dorothy F. Shaw
Fiction or Non-Fiction: Fiction
Genre(s): Romance – erotic, contemporary and paranormal
Number of books published: 4 – (5th will be here in January)
Links to published work (Amazon, Smashwords, etc):

(Barnes doesn’t do author pages)
I’m on several other e-sellers as well.

WYLABWYW: Author Bio:
Dorothy F. Shaw lives in Arizona, where the weather is hot and the sunsets are always beautiful. She spends her days in the corp. world and her nights with her Mac on her lap. Between her ever-open heart, her bright red hair and her many colorful tattoos, she truly lives and loves in Technicolor!

WYLABWYW: Tell us a little bit about yourself. Something we won’t find in you author bio on your website (do you work, hobbies, what do you like to do when not writing/working, etc.).
I studied dance for 14 years when I was a child. Oh, and I ride a motorcycle...when its not too hot out.

WYLABWYW:  Are you self-published, with an agency, or a combination of the two?
Combination of the two. I have one self-published project I did with 4 other authors. The boxed set is called: Three Time Lucky—my story in it is: Playtime.

WYLABWYW: What inspired you to become a writer?
It was an accident. Some friends told me on twitter in 2009, after writing a blog post about how my now ex-husband and I met, that I should write because I had a voice. Personally? I thought they were insane. But...here I am.

WYLABWYW: Do you have a mentor or mentors?
I have several, but Megan Hart is my primary. She’s also a dear friend. Her style, her work ethic and how she can break a readers heart and then heal it with her writing is amazing. Megan taught me that this—even though it’s artistic—is still a job. And if you want this job, you have to do the work. That means you have to sit your butt down and write. No matter what, you write.

WYLABWYW:  What do you do to prepare for a story?
I do a high level: WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE and WHY layout. I plot the highpoints but for everything in between, I’m definitely a pantster. I let the characters lead and I make sure they stay on course. But often, they surprise me.

WYLABWYW: What do you find to be your biggest obstacle in the writing process?
Lack of time. I have to sleep at some point.

WYLABWYW:  Where do you do your writing?
In my family room, or if its during the day and the kids are home, I go hide in my bedroom. But I sit in a recliner with my mac on my lap.

WYLABWYW: Do you listen to music when you write? If so, what do you typically listen to?
ALWAYS! I make a playlist for whatever book I’m writing. And that playlist is determined by the plot and the characters.

WYLABWYW: How much of your book(s), if any, is taken from real life events?
As Megan Hart says: It’s all true and it’s all fiction. =P

Seriously, I don’t write actual events in my books. But I do draw from my past experiences, or even current experiences. You have to use it...everything that’s happened to you or around you. I’ve had a lot of things go on in my life and I use it to breathe life and emotion into my characters.

WYLABWYW:   Who is/was your biggest support for your writing career?
My ex-husband. He’s still my biggest supporter.

WYLABWYW:  What lead to write your chosen genre?
I write what I like to read. I like realistic broken characters. I even like a love story without a happy ending, but sadly, you can’t sell that as romance. All my characters get an HEA, but they just have to work hard for it. Also, I LOVE a ton of sex in the books I read. Sex is part of life and relationships, so it’ll always be in my books.

WYLABWYW:  Tell us about your book(s).

The first book I had published was co-written by my ex-husband and I. Spare Hearts is a fairly long novella about a former pro-bowler trying to get back on the PBA circuit. Yes, I wrote about a bowler. =))

I’m currently working on a contemporary erotic romance series called The Donnellys. The first was released in May: Unworthy Heart – this is actually the first book I ever wrote. I finished writing it a little over 3 years ago, and it took that long to get it edited and in decent enough condition for a publisher to pick it up. The series can support 7-8 (maybe more) books. Book 2, Defensive Heart just released Sept 8th.

WYLABWYW:  Do you have muses you used for your characters?
Life is my muse, but there have definitely been people in my past (or not too distant past) that have inspired certain characters. It can’t be helped. What’s that saying? If you wanted people to write warmly about you, you should’ve behaved better? Yeah, that one.

WYLABWYW: Time to give your support a shout out! Tell us about your crew (cover designer, photographer, editor, videographer, proofreader, swag designer, etc.)
SHOUT OUT TO:

Shawna Thomas – she an author, but also edits on the side. Shawna is the first person to ever edit me. She helped me learn how to write. For that, I will forever be grateful.

My current editor at Samhain – Tera Cuskaden Norris. She’s awesome and I love her to pieces!

SIdda Lee Rain – she’s an indie author and a very close friend. She saved my butt on a book I just finished writing by proof reading as I wrote. Adore her, and I pray she’s always in my life.

Terry “Wookie” Hoffman – my ex husband. He’s still my biggest supporter and cheerleader and he makes all my swag! Check him out if you need cover art or swag...or a tattoo. He’s badass at all those things.

WYLABWYW: What are you working on now, and when can we expect your next release?
Right now, I’m in edits on book 3 in The Donnellys series. It’s due out early January.

I’m also working on a stand-alone Dark contemporary erotic romance tentatively titled Stripped Bounty. It’s targeted to come out June of 2016.

After that, I’ll be working on book 4 in The Donnellys. All published through Samhain.

WYLABWYW: Can you share an excerpt from a work in progress?
How about my latest release?

--Excerpt from Defensive Heart, book 2 in The Donnellys

* * *

He wrapped his fingers around her hand in a firm but not excessive grip. “Nice to meet you. Can’t say it’s been a pleasure so far, but maybe there’s hope.” He winked and smiled, revealing a set of straight, white teeth and a pair of dimples some would kill for.

The smile was potent, and her breath caught in her throat. “You really know how to turn on the charm, don’t you?”

“Oh, come on. Lighten up, will ya? We need a shot.”

“I’m not doing a shot with you, Mr. Donnelly.”

“Sure you are. Good memory with the name, by the way.” He rubbed his hands together. “I’m going to order two shots along with your drink, then we’ll drink them. Simple.”

Sonja couldn’t quite believe this guy. He was either already drunk or just plain stupid. Never mind rude, annoying and downright egotistical. She could go on and on, and should’ve already walked away from him. Yet she stood there, like some sort of subservient sheep—how typical of me—and let him order them shots and drinks.

Sonja shook her head, clenching her teeth in complete annoyance. Thing was, she wasn’t sure who she was more agitated with, herself or him. Just what she needed, another pompous ass ordering her around. Spare me. I’m full up. The bartender returned with her vodka tonic—minus the lime, two shot glasses filled with dark fluid, and a glass of what appeared to be Guinness. When her unwelcome and distracting company slid the shot in front of her, Sonja eyed the nearly black liquid and frowned. “What is it?”

“Jagermeister.” He raised his shot glass. “Come on, lift it. What shall we drink to?”

She waved her hand, signaling the bartender. She needed the lime for her drink. “I’m not drinking that.”

He picked up the other shot and held it in front of her. “Sure you are.”

“Mr. Donnel—”

“James. Take the shot.”

“James. Whatever. You can have both.” The bartender appeared. Finally. “You forgot my lime.”

“It’s been awhile hasn’t it?” James chuckled.

“Excuse me?”

He set the shot intended for her on the bar top. “Safe to assume you’re single. It’s been awhile since you’ve gotten laid, huh? Must be it.”

“It has no—” Heat flooded her cheeks and agitation pulsed through her. She was single, but her relationship status or sex life was none of his damn business. And besides, it hadn’t been that long. Had it?

Cupping her elbow in his hand, he bent close to her ear. “You are, and it has. Drink the shot, Sonja. Trust me, you need it.” His hot breath feathered over her neck and she shivered.
