WYLABWYW: Author Bio

I began writing music and poetry at an early age. My love of music became my sole focus, and I spent quite a few years as the lead singer for many local rock bands. In high school, I was fascinated with the macabre and started writing science fiction and horror stories so dark they earned me the nickname "Gory Cory."

After years of writing dark tales, I never thought in a million years my first two finished manuscripts would be Adult Romance.

I am a devout vegan, as well as an animal lover. I collect antique weapons and crosses (I still have that dark-side).

WYLABWYW: Tell us a little bit about yourself. Something we won’t find in you author bio on your website (do you work, hobbies, what do you like to do when not writing/working, etc.).

I write FULLTIME. I have two cats Lizzy and Buffy. I was a DVD whore (1400+) until I discovered Blu-ray now I am a junkie big time. I enjoy foreign horror movies as well as television shows in subtitles.  I love antique and gun shows.  To be honest since it’s only me and my kitties I spend most of my time writing or shopping with my BFF.

WYLABWYW: What inspired you to become a writer?

I began writing at an early age and it stuck. I never once finished ONE of my manuscripts. They had piled up in drawers.  I stuck to short stories, songs and magazine articles. When my mom got ill April of 2013 I needed an outlet for my emotions. So, I began penning a dystopian YA. As with the others, I got bored and didn’t feel my creative juices flowing. I spoke to a really well known author about my writer’s block. She gave me the best advice ever. Don’t write what you hope will sell WRITE WHAT YOU KNOW.  Well I know younger men/older women better than anyone. It’s been my lifestyle since high school. So Reviving Haven was born. I have to admit me writing romance was really outside of my comfort zone. I didn’t tell any of my friends right away. And the sex. Ye Gods.

WYLABWYW: Do you have a mentor or mentors?

I have authors that helped me if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be answering these questions.
Cambria Hebert (sounding board for all my woes and constant questions) Mary Ting(holding my hand pre-publishing-she is a GOD send)

Jodi Ellen Malpas: For giving me the BEST advice ever.

WYLABWYW:  What do you do to prepare for a story?

Storyboard
Outline
Muses

Snatch- which will be released April 2, 2016 is a book I had to hire a technical advisor for. There are a lot of weapons and action scenes so I needed someone with expertise in that area.

Acquiesce -required several excursions to Porn/Adult shops and oh yeah I had to watch a ton of PORN(not the good kind but the instructional kind-YAWN FEST)

WYLABWYW: What do you find to be your biggest obstacle in the writing process?

Social media

WYLABWYW:  Where do you write?

I have two home offices and five computers but I generally gravitate to my bedroom because of the 28 inch monitor.

WYLABWYW: Do you listen to music when you write? If so, what do you typically listen to?

I have to have UTTER & COMPLETE silence. Sometimes if I need help with a particular scene, I will use the playlist from that book.

WYLABWYW: How much of your book(s), if any, is taken from real life events?

You’d be surprised. There is quite a bit, I just tweaked the events.

WYLABWYW:   Who is/was your biggest support for your writing career?

People I have never met. My virtual friends. The only family I have is my brother and he lives out of state. Sometimes you have to become your own cheerleader!

WYLABWYW:  What lead to write your chosen genre?

I have NO idea. I’m a goth chick. Romance was too FOO FOO for me. I like blood & guts.

WYLABWYW:  Tell us about your book(s).

Bite & Release:
A love story that begins when (he’s) 8 years old and (she’s) 21. Fast forward 13 years later when he’s 21.

I had no idea when I wrote this book women would embrace it like they have. I wanted to write a HOT as hell story, but make the ALPHA MALE a nice guy.

Reviving Haven:
An older disillusioned woman with no self-esteem and self worth meets a much younger, filthy-mouthed SCOT, who is an award winning video game designer and has major issues himself.

Acquiesce
Two words: MALE BROTHEL

WYLABWYW:  Do you have muses you used for your characters?

Of course.  (WYLABWYW: The covers say it all!)

WYLABWYW: Time to give your support a shout out! Tell us about your crew (cover designer, photographer, editor, videographer, proofreader, swag designer, etc.)

Robin/Wicked by Design: Best graphic Designer EVER. She takes my vision and creates covers to die for.
I always choose the cover photo myself. Since I don’t use stock, each picture is a different photographer.
Danielle’s Dazzling designs creates all of my swag. We mesh no matter what I want (and sometimes it’s REALLY OUT THERE); she comes through.

All my book trailers were created by  Bibliophile Productions. Becca is amazing!

WYLABWYW: What are you working on now, and when can we expect your next release?

I am currently doing FINAL edits on THE REASON I BREATHE (Bite & Release 2). It will be published July 24.

I just finished revisions on RUG BURNS (Weezie’s POV-from Reviving Haven). It will go LIVE October 17.

In between, I am working on Snatch due out April 2, 2016.

WYLABWYW: Can you share an excerpt from a work in progress?

I can give you the first line from Rug Burns: I LOVE COCK

WYLABWYW:  Do you have any upcoming signing events or appearances scheduled later this year or in 2016?

I don’t do signings.

WYLABWYW: Which new authors have caught your attention?

I really like Emily Cyr (no relation) and Sophie Slade(what can I say I’m enamored by Vampires)

Thank you so much for taking the time to share with us all.
